Mediterranean Décor

There is nothing more soothing and relaxing than Mediterranean décor! Every time I am on holiday I fall in love all over again with this type of decoration. It is just warm, relaxing and gives a sense of freedom!

I found these beautiful images of a house situated in the heart of Puglia, Valle d’Itria, Italy. It is the work of a very talented designer, Leonardo Ancona. Previously immersed in the fashion world he now dedicates his time as an interior designer restructuring old buildings.

Most furniture pieces are designed by the man in question making these interiors one of a kind creating a unique atmosphere but still maintaining the natural essence of this beautiful historic building. I absolutely adore it and hope you do too!

Ciao Ciao my lovelies!

PS. Only 2 days left to vote for the Mydeco Blog Awards and I am currently first........ fingers crossed I can win it! If you still haven't voted please do.... Will keep you posted :)

Florence Broadhurst

Today I have been totally inspired by these beautiful prints by Florence Broadhurst. She was a flamboyant and eccentric Australian designer specialising in hand printed wall papers and wall coverings.

By the time of her death in 1977 Florence Broadhurst had lived and worked in Australia, Asia, and England; performed professionally on stage; been befriended by royalty; exhibited her paintings; and started an internationally successful wallpaper company whose success was based upon her own designs. She also found time to run a trucking company, start up a dress salon, play marbles with a strong competitive streak and agitate for women’s rights.

Here is a selection of her prints which I think are just delightful and endearing and which I feel portray her extraordinary life and show that she truly was a woman ahead of her time.

Santorini Luxury

It's a bit of a dull day here in Bella Italia and after eating far too much it is time for me to relax and unwind, which I have to say I am getting quite use to this.

I found these gorgeous images of the Perivolas Luxury Suites in Santorini, Greece. Now this is definitely a hotel I would dream of staying, how utterly mesmerising is it? So clean and organic with a complete Mediterranean feel to it. I am completely in love with this place and I feel I must go to Santorini next year and stay in this hotel, that bed looks very inviting indeed.....One can only dream :)

Today I am Loving...

These gorgeous vases that I have come across while reading Elle Decor Italia, even though I am on holiday I still like to be kept in the loop of the latest trends. This collection of ceramic objects with surfaces captured by blueprinting is just exquisite

These are the works of two very talented artists, Sarah van Gameren and Tim Simpson, together they form their signature company 'Studio Glithero', both bringing different influences with him being English and her being Dutch.

It is all a bit of a technical process to get this unique look but in a nutshell vases are impregnated with light sensitive chemicals before being kept in light sealed boxes. After, they are exposed to a UV light which leave a negative of the flowers strapped to the surface like a photographic image. Each piece being one of a kind as they are different from one another.

I hope you like them just as much as I did! I'm off to the beach now to enjoy some rays :)

Simple Luxury

I am in week two of my holiday and I am loving every single minute of it. I am simply enjoying the simple life, riding my bike around my beloved village, shopping for great food and wine, enjoying the markets and most importantly enjoying the sunshine and company of my friends. It is pure bliss here and I never want to come back :)

As I am enjoying the simplicity of things I came across interior designer, Mimmi O'Connell. I don't really know much about her but a friend did mention for me to have a look at her website. I ended up having a quick peek and thought her style was perfect for the mood I am in, such simple luxury. Her interiors are beautifully elegant with some rustic chic combined which I absolutely love, so very Mediterranean.

Well I'm off now to the beach for a nice swim, enjoy my images and the rest of the day. I shall be back soon!
